The first edition of the Ahmedabad World Schools Debating Tournament
The West Zone Selections for the Indian National Debating Squad was conducted online via Zoom for junior and senior students, which in total saw the participation of 200+ students from 40+ schools across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Both tournaments were preceded by workshops taken by the Core Adjudicators- Manya Gupta (2019 WSDC champion) and Yash Thirani (Substantive Director at ARC). The debates were judged by top-level university debaters from across the country, who provided in-depth feedback to the students after every round. All the debates were of high quality and saw fierce argumentation on motions centered around military tactics, feminism, police brutality, etc. After 2 rigorous weekends of debating, 30 students from the west zonal level were recommended for the next round, out of which 10 students have made it to the National Selection Camp.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Saumya Mishra
Shortlisted for the National Selection Camp in 2019 and 2020
From my first interaction with ARC in 2018 to now, ARC has been a wonderful guide in my journey from being an absolute newbie to a slightly less inexperienced debater. The west zone workshops have laid my foundational skills in debating. From the extensive feedback to remaining in touch with us through the year, I truly owe everyone at ARC a lot. Anyone who gets the opportunity to interact with them is bound to echo my thoughts, and I consider myself very lucky to have been able to associate myself with them.
